What Is Vacuum Loading?

What Is Vacuum Loading?

Not many people are familiar with vacuum loading but chances are, if you are working in the industrial sector, you probably have even hired a maintenance company that offers vacuum loading services. In fact, you probably use this kind of services in your day to day operations without even knowing it.

Vacuum loading is defined as the process involving the rapid removal of waste from a vessel or contained space. This waste may be in the form of dry or liquid material. Often, it uses mobile stations equipped to provide rapid removal and speedy waste processing.

Loading via vacuum is used to remove wastes of many different varieties. Some companies use it to remove brick residue, concrete slurries, woodchips and cement during construction. Wet and dry clay is also removed via vacuum loading during major excavations. Vacuum loading is used in this case because it is unsafe for workers to remain in excavations because of the possibility of cave-ins. The use of vacuum also saves you in manpower costs because you do not need to hire more workers to haul out material from the holes you have dug.

In cases where drains are clogged up vacuum loading is also used to remove liquids and sewage. Loading through vacuum is a major fixture in pit and culvert cleaning operations because it removes the waste that is deposited in hard to reach places without the need to destroy the surrounding structure. Hence, you do not generate unnecessary expenses.

During oil spills vacuum loading is employed for quick removal of substances that can adversely affect the environment. The presence of human beings can add to the adverse effects of an environmental disaster. Furthermore, it eliminates the need for the use of foreign objects to remove the contaminants. These very contaminants already cause harm and adding more contaminant will only make things worse.

It is one of the most cost efficient processes available and thus it is used by many companies today. However, despite its common use it is still misunderstood. Many companies still use old practices like manual labor and chemical processing. They don’t even know that this form of loading would actually be better compared to what they were doing before.

Loading can be a very helpful if used properly. It produces the same results if not better than manually removing the material using workers, therefore making the process safer. In addition, it works without the need for additional chemicals which will further damage the fragile balance of the ecosystem.
